Dear Parents and Carers ,
We have had another busy week here at HT! Huge congratulations to your resilient cycling team who braved the crazy weather, thunderstorms and lightning to make it to Paris, early! They have succeeded in raising a huge amount of money (in excess of £16000) for both our school and the Skylarks charity and we are so grateful and proud of them!

Next Tuesday and Wednesday our year 6 children are performing their production of ‘What’s the Crime Mr Wolf?’ to the school and the parents. They have been working extremely hard and are really looking forward to sharing it with our community – the children in assembly also expressed their excitement to them about watching it next week! Good luck Leopards and Lions.
Trips, visits and events |
Owls had fun at Forest School
Year 4 had a fantastic Forest School session on Monday! They donned their explorer hats for some pond dipping, taking a closer look at the fascinating creatures that share our world. Back on dry land, their creativity took centre stage. The mud kitchen was buzzing as the children became mini Gordon Ramsays and Nigellas, whipping up some impressive (but inedible!) mud pies. Imagination flowed as they transformed sticks and wool into unique objects. Finally, channelling their inner engineers, the children had the opportunity to build bridges with logs and other natural resources – a perfect hands-on experience linking to their Design and Technology lessons.
Year 5 created a ploughman’s in D&T
I was lucky enough to be invited to experience and judge the Badger and Foxes food tech banquet on Wednesday. They had been learning about what ingredients made a ploughman’s lunch. I did a terrible job of judging as they were all so appealing and varied – all winners! I was so impressed by the variety of fruit and vegetables that the children had included on their platters. They must have tasted delicious!
Our Kingfishers head off to Bockett’s Farm!
Our reception children were super excited this morning as they prepared for their trip to Bockett’s Farm. They all had so much fun learning about and feeding all the different animals. The children especially enjoyed petting the cute animals and going on the tractor ride.

Move Up Events
This week we have been talking to staff about plans for next year and we are looking forward to our move up events on Thursday 11th July. We will be informing the parents about which teachers will be leading which classes on this day and the children will have the chance to spend the afternoon with their new teachers and in their new classrooms.
The Year 6 children had the chance to spend a day at their new secondary schools this week too. We can’t believe that it is almost time to say goodbye and are looking forward to the celebrations of their time at Holy Trinity over the next few weeks.
Friday Worship
This morning in worship we focused on Matthew 7v13-14: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” We talked about some situations that we might face in school, for example: someone saying something unkind about someone else, and considered what would be the easy response (the wide gate/path) and would be the harder but better response (the narrow gate/path). I was really impressed by the children’s reflections and asked them finally to consider if there have been times this week that they have chosen the easy option when they could have had a better response.
We then invited Mr Bell to join us in the hall and the school community sang happy Birthday to him to mark his special birthday. Do wish him a happy birthday if you see him around!
Parent Carer Survey
Thank you to the parents/carers that completed the survey for us. I have spent some time working through the responses to what families would like further support with to take these into account as we create the school development plan for next year.
It was lovely to read what you feel is working well for our school and I have created this word cloud to show these…
…so much to be proud of!

Football Friendlies
40 children from the juniors plus one child from year 2 have competed in football friendly matches against Marshgate this week. It was lovely being able to host the fixtures and seeing such a huge crowd supporting the children.
JA coaching
On Friday we hosted our sporting workshop courtesy of JA coaching who will be providing some of our extra curricular clubs from September. The sessions were very well run and engaging and the children loved the activities. We are looking forward to welcoming JA coaching to our community.

Congratulations girls, you have shown us your love for the sport, your commitment to your club and your achievements are truly aspirational!
The Holy Trinity Judo Club win bronze medals!
On Saturday 29th June, Ajai , Julião and Alvaro competed in the Core Judo Championships at the ACS International School in Egham.
It was their first judo event and they were competing against judoka from across Surrey and London. Showcasing some beautiful judo, the boys battled their way through the knockout stages to the semi-final, narrowly missing out on a place in the final. Winning many of their contests with the maximum score of ‘Ippon’, they all walked away with very well deserved bronze medals. Ajai, Julião and Alvaro were a credit to themselves and the Holy Trinity Judo Club and we can’t wait for their next competition.
The Holy Trinity Judo Club welcomes recreational and competitive players. Come and join us for the autumn term. We train in the hall every Friday before school – Years 1-6 (8:00-8:45)
