Newsletter 19th July 2024

Friday 17th July 2024

Dear Parents and Carers                ,

We have had a very busy week at HT! Some of our highlights have been HT’s got Talent, Sports Day, Rock Bandz and Mini Bandz concerts, Year 2 recorder assembly, Year 6 Leavers party and our Sports Awards assembly. What a huge amount of passion and talent our children have, it has been such a pleasure celebrating with them.

As this will be our final newsletter for the year I would like to wish you all a very happy summer holiday. We have had another wonderful year and are so very proud of all our children’s achievements. I would like to say a huge thank you to all our staff who have worked so hard, we are so very lucky to have you all here at HT.

To our children and families who are leaving us at the end of this term I would like to thank you for all your support and energy that you have brought to our community. We wish you all the very best for your next adventures and would love to see you at our events in the future; as I always say – once in the HT family, always in the HT family! Have a lovely break and see you in September. Miss Ashby.

Trips, visits and events

Rainbow class enjoy Forest School

On Monday, Rainbow class had their last session in Forest School. They had a great time exploring the outdoor area, making mud pies, using the ropes and visiting the pond to have a go at pond dipping – we found 10 baby newts!

HT’s got Talent

We were treated to the most wonderful array of talent from magic shows, stand up, singing and dancing, an incredible set of pogo stick tricks and football skills during HT’s got talent this week. We laughed, we cried and we applauded you. Thank you so much for your courage and sharing your talents with us!

Rock bandz concerts

Our Rock Bandz and Mini Bandz put on some wonderful concerts for us this week. The children and staff loved singing along, thank you for sharing your fabulous performances with us!

Sports Day

On Thursday we had our Early Years/KS1 and KS2 sports days. The children competed in both individual and team events, collecting points for their House Teams. Thank you so much for those of you that came to support, to all the children from Christs that volunteered to help us run each event and to Mr Callaghan for organising it all. What a wonderful day!

Message from Mrs Evans

It has been such an exciting week here at Holy Trinity with the HT’s Got Talent Finals, Year 6 Leavers’ Party, Sports Day and the ‘Sports Personality of the Year’ assembly. Next week I am looking forward to presenting Headteacher Awards to pupils in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 too.

I have had such a wonderful term with you all – thank you so much for your ongoing support. I would also like to thank all of the staff for their hard work this year – they are a fabulous team!  I am very much looking forward to returning to Holy Trinity in September to continue to lead the school for the autumn term.

For those of you that I don’t see before the end of term, I wish you a very happy holiday and to those of you leaving the Holy Trinity community next week, please keep in touch!

Notices and requests

Last chance for your Eco Refills

Thank you for supporting our Eco initiatives at HT. If anyone needs a refill of hand soap, body wash or detergents to last the summer break, please leave your bottles to be refilled with a request note of what you would like.  There is a box at Office Reception where these can be left and the items can then be collected from Heron Class at the end of the day.

Thank you, your Eco Refill Rescue Team

The Summer Reading Challenge, Marvellous Makers!

The Summer Reading Challenge is the UK’s biggest children’s reading initiative for 4 –11-year-olds and is produced by The Reading Agency and delivered by libraries. This year’s Summer Reading Challenge is Marvellous Makers!

From Saturday 6 July 2024 children in the borough can sign up for the challenge at their local Richmond upon Thames library and receive a Marvellous Makers pack. To take part, a child needs to be a member of the library and have their own library card. For each of six library books they read they can collect a sticker for their colourful collector pack. Children can update their progress through the challenge at any library in the borough. Everyone who reads six library books is rewarded in the library with a medal and certificate. Marvellous Makers closes on Saturday 7 September 2024.

Community events and initiatives

As a school we are always seeking ways to develop an awareness of the wider world and have in the past had links  with various charitable initiatives. We have a wonderful opportunity to again support Karis Kids (a charity working with children in the slums of Kampala) which is familiar to many within our community, by supporting an upcoming visit to Kampala by a group of volunteers. These volunteers will be working with families and offering a fun summer programme to the children who live in poverty. Our own Mrs Lambert will be one of these volunteers. As a school, it would be wonderful if we could collect some items to send with the team or make a financial contribution towards the buying of these items.  A list of suitable items can be found in the letter sent to you this week. Thank you so much for supporting this wonderful initiative.

Love, Aspiration, Community
