Friday 20th September 2024
Dear Parents and Carers ,
What a glorious week of sunshine we have had! Our Year 6 children have had a fabulous week away in Osmington Bay in Dorset enjoying every minute of it! Some of their highlights have been the giant swing, fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast, zip wiring, dragon boat racing and learning to sail at the national sailing school in Weymouth. We are so excited to welcome them home this afternoon and hear all their stories next week when they join us back in school!
Next week our year 2 children are off to investigate all things science related at the London Wetland Centre in Barnes. We also have our photographer in to take our children’s individual and siblings photos on Thursday and Friday next week.

Message from Mrs Evans |
It’s been another busy week here at Holy Trinity. Can you believe that some of our conversations this week have been about our plans for Christmas?!
This morning we had another lovely worship together. We continued with our focus on ‘Individual Liberty’ and reflected on the message in Galatians 5v13-14: “My brothers, God called you to be free. But do not use your freedom as an excuse to do the things that please your sinful self. Serve each other with love. The whole law is made complete in this one command: “Love your neighbour as you love yourself.” We considered what this might look like in action for us at school using a variety of scenarios (thank you to my Year 5 helpers who took part in this). We talked about ‘compromise’ and the fact that whilst we have the right to make our own choices and share our own thoughts and opinions, sometimes we must compromise. We also considered the importance of listening well to understand one another better. We closed worship with prayers and sang ‘Our God is a Great Big God’ led beautifully by Year 1 and Year 2.
I also had the pleasure this morning of meeting with our new mentor Adam and introducing him to some of our classes. Enjoy the weekend and see you all next week.
Notices and requests |
Our new mentor
We were delighted to welcome our new mentor, Adam, into school today. He will be in every Friday supporting our children and community in a variety of ways.
Calling any possible parent volunteers…
We are searching for volunteers for the Junior Library, we would love any parents who can help for even half an hour 1 morning a week to organise the books and also help children who are new to the system. Please don’t worry if you don’t have any experience as we would provide some training as well. Please email either Mrs Brown (hbrown@htprimary.com) or Miss Merrett (hmerrett@htprimary.com) if you would be interested in this.
Eco Refill Rescue shop
Our refill shop will reopen after school next Friday outside the Year 3 & 4 classes. Please bring any empty containers you wish to fill (or refill!) – we have a selection of products including body washes, hand washes, washing up liquid and washing liquid for your clothes. There is a drop off box outside reception for any named empties if you need anything sooner! They certainly were my most popular Christmas presents last year – my sister only uses these products now!
