Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had a more reasonable week with the weather after last week’s extremes, and it was wonderful to  have our Sports Day on Wednesday. I was particularly moved by one of our younger pupils who noticed his friend  struggling in the sprint race just behind him, and slowed up purposely to let his friend win, clapping him as he passed  the line first. This shows an excellent generosity of spirit, which I feel embodies much of what Holy Trinity has been  about for me – helping others, and celebrating their success. The Bible captures this so well in Romans 12:10: “Be devoted  to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves.” I look forward to seeing you tomorrow at the Summer  Fair.

Best wishes,

Mr George

Trips, visits and events

HT Cycle to Paris

They did it! We received a lovely thank you from Skylarks:

What a journey, what an achievement, and what a group of heroes. Team Holy Trinity – you did us very proud. From  the early morning training rides and fundraising efforts to crossing the finish line in Paris, your dedication, resilience,  teamwork and community spirit have been nothing short of inspiring. Taking on this challenge in the extreme heat  across both the UK and France made your achievement even more remarkable. The way you supported and  encouraged one another throughout the journey was truly inspiring. Together, you’re on the verge of raising an  incredible £25,000 in support of Holy Trinity and Skylarks Charity, helping children and young people with additional  needs and disabilities, and their families. Thank you for every mile ridden, every donation raised and every ounce of  determination you put into this challenge. Year 2 Forest School

The children had an absolutely fabulous time exploring the great outdoors

on a much cooler day! A huge highlight was practicing how to safely light a

fire, followed by some wonderful nature spotting at the pond, where they

observed the lily pads and even found newts and a tiny froglet! From

getting messy and creative in the mud kitchen to testing their strength

hanging off the ropes, it was a day filled with adventure, teamwork, and

all-round smiles.

Sports Day

Our amazing sports day was a resounding success, filled with incredible community spirit and outstanding athletic  performances. Huge thanks go to Mr. Callaghan for his exceptional organisational skills, as well as the governors and  ex-pupils who worked tirelessly by his side all day. We were thrilled to see so many parents cheering from the sidelines

and even enthusiastically joining in with a few races. A massive congratulations to Pankhurst House for being crowned  this year’s champions, proving once again what a truly wonderful community we have here!

Notices and Requests

Staff Leavers

We would like to say a massive thank you to all those leaving. This will take place as a picnic on July 14th at  3:30-4:30 pm on the 3G. Parents are welcome to collect their children, then stay around for an hour whilst the staff  wander around and say their goodbyes. With a value of community, it would only be right to give our wonderful staff  the send-off they deserve.

Student Leavers

If there are any parents with children in Reception to Year 5 who will be leaving Holy Trinity at the end of term,  please contact Mrs Prendergast (lprendergast@htprimary.com) for a leaver’s form. Richmond Admissions are asking for  our projected numbers in each year group so that they are in a position to start making offers to other families. Many  thanks.

Volunteering

It is such a joy being able to take your children on school trips and enhance their educational opportunities. In  order to do this, though, we often need parent support and volunteers. In these cases, it is best practice for all our  volunteers to be DBS checked. If you are likely to volunteer, then please do go to Mrs Prendergast in the office, who  will be able to discuss the next steps in getting this sorted for you. DBS checks do not have an official expiry date and  are considered valid for three years, so it will last for a while whilst your children attend this school.

Safeguarding

Mr George, Miss Brunt, Mrs Allard, Mr Auton and Mrs Bell can be contacted at the school using their emails  (which are on the school website), or you can use our new safeguarding email, which is: safeguarding@htprimary.com

Our Safeguarding Governors are Francis Neal and Helen Taylor, and they can be contacted via email using the links on  the school website, linked here.
