Newsletter 17th May 2024

Dear Parents and Carers                ,

A huge congratulations to all our Year 6 children who completed their SATs this week, they have worked so hard, taken such a positive attitude towards them and shown such resilience. Thank you to all our children across the school for being so respectful, kind and accommodating around them and our adaptations to playtime. You have most definitely demonstrated our values of love and community!

Trips, visits and events

Badgers/Foxes honed their skills in their Forest School session on Monday…

Year 5 enjoyed an action packed forest school day in our wonderful wildlife area, making dens and bird feeders, planting sunflower seeds and searching for newts in the school pond!

Nursery class lead our assembly

We had a wonderful assembly led by the nursery class today who told us all about their learning and have set the whole school a challenge to help make Holy Trinity a more bee friendly environment. They have hidden tokens around the school and these can be exchanged for seeds to plant or kits to make bee homes and bee fountains. It was really nice for us all to see what they have been getting up to!

Message from Mrs Evans

We have had another busy week here. I was so pleased to be part of SATs week with the Year 6 classes and was incredibly impressed with how they approached these. A huge thank you to all of the staff who have been working incredibly hard to help them to prepare. Now their attention turns to the end of year production which I am also looking forward to. I have also spent time in some of the classes and enjoyed being part of our staff training on Monday which focused on developing consistency of offer across our curriculum. It was fantastic to be able to look at examples of work across the school in art and to see how the children’s skills and knowledge are progressing as they move from year to year. There has been a lot of work going on in the Hub today as our ‘Prayer Space’ was being prepared and I am very much looking forward to joining some of the classes as they visit next week.

Notices and requests

Putting in the miles for HT…

Miss Brunt and Mr Thompson are joining the PTFA and some members of the HT community in a cycle from Richmond to Paris at the end of June. This is a huge challenge for anyone to complete in just two days. Miss Brunt has very little long distance cycling experience and has been teaching herself how to use cleats and Mr Thompson is considering doing it on a single speed bike! They have been training hard – here they are about 70km into their longest ride (95km) on Saturday! What they will need is motivation and that is where you come in: let’s get fundraising! We are raising money for the school and your children. Please do give generously to the link below; it is all going to a great cause – 50% of the funds raised to HT school and 50% to Skylarks, an independent Richmond upon Thames-based charity that provides activities and therapies for children with disabilities and additional needs.
